THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY MEASUREMENTS BY THE LASER PULSE METHOD USING GAUSS ESTIMATION PROCEDURE WITH EXTENDED NUMBER OF PARAMETERS
ABSTRACT
Paper presents application of the Gauss estimation procedure in measuring thermal diffusivity using the laser pulse method. Unlike the well-known direct procedure originally established by Parker et al. and its
variations, this one belongs to the so-called inverse technique, which makes use of the complete measured signal. Paper describes how to achieve minimum deviation between estimated and experimental curves
and to obtain more accurate results proposing an estimation procedure with extended number of parameters in three steps.
