In order to predict the specific features of axisymetrical reacting free jets, the modified Cd coefficient in k-e turbulence model is proposed. Special attention is paid to the second-moment model (Reynolds-Stress Turbulence Model) concerning the prediction of anisotropy level and correlation coefficients of turbulent diffusion of scalar components. The models are used for prediction of premixed turbulent acetylene flame. Calculation results are compared with the experimental data. The qualitative and quantitative comparison between two approaches is presented. The results of these computations demonstrate the superiority of the second-moment turbulence model over eddy-viscosity one. Also, the further improvements of both turbulence models are discussed in order to overcome the discrepancy found between experimental and numerical data.
