AB - This special issue of the journal Thermal Science is dedicated primarily to know about the recent scientific achievements in the field of mechanical engineering. University college of engineering Villupuram is pioneer in the research and development activities for almost 10 years and conducted First International Conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering (ICAME) during October 15-16th 2015.

Issue aims to spotlight the importance of advances in mechanical engineering and its need in the global scenario. Further, studies of the modern experimental, numerical and analytical methods have been presented to solve thermal problem in engineering like energy, combustion, refrigeration and air conditioning, and design. This also explains the reduction of environmental pollution using various technologies and developing green and clean technologies to the society.

From 230 papers presented in the ICAME2015 31 papers have been selected. The technical papers presented are based on the scientific research performed by faculty members and research scholars in the field of thermal, design, and manufacturing engineering from all over India.
