EFFECT OF CONCENTRATION OF METAL INORGANIC SALT ON FIBER DIAMETER IN ELECTROSPINNING PROCESS: MATHEMATICAL MODEL AND EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION

ABSTRACT
Electrospinning is used to produce polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers under various the ferric chloride (FeCl3) contents. The effect of FeCl3 concentration on fiber diameter is investigated theoretically and experimentally. A critical value of the concentration is found, below which fiber diameter decreases with its concentration, and an opposite prediction is observed when the concentration is larger than the critical value.
